Historical notes and articles, booklets, programs, maps, memoirs, business records, tax records, photographs, postcards, certificates, clippings and other documents on the history of the Manhasset area, including Plandome, Flower Hill and Munsey Park. Subjects include schools, churches, civic organizations, the Port Washington trolley, Long Island Rail Road, estates and family history. Items of note include a map of the Manhasset School District, 1942; typescript of a talk by Carlos W. Munson on the history of Flower Hill; photocopies of minutes, shareholder lists and stock certificates for the Bethpage Turnpike Co. and Jericho Turnipike Co., 1881-1853; photographs and clippings concerning Dr. Charles Niesley and his sons; tax receipts, bills, school programs and report cards, selective service documents and other papers by Alexander McIntosh and his son James McIntosh, 1908-1941; questionnaires filled out by long time residents, 1953, giving recollections of events and conditions in the area; proposals, reports, policies and other material on the Community Service Center, Inc., of Manhasset, 1966-1972; and proposals, reports, memos, minutes of public meetings, bills, work orders, letters, pamphlets and clippings concerning setting up and regulating a cable television franchise in the Village of Flower Hill and other communities in the Town of North Hempstead, 1981-1986.
